De Montfort Hall really are too good to us Leicester folk. So good in fact that people travel from far and wide to enjoy their celebrated line-up of muscial acts. Not only do we have Summer Sundae to look forward to in August, but the Big Session Festival is on it’s way to DMH during June.
Taking place in the De Montfort Hall gardens in Leicester on Friday 18 June, Saturday 19 June and Sunday 20 June 2010, The Big Session is a festival with a difference. Now in its sixth year, it showcases a massive range of newcomers, established artists and some nostaligic favourites (Chumbawumba are performing this year! I know, Chumbawumba! It’s like 1997 all over again- brilliant!) such as The Rockingbirds alongside Oysterband and The Proclaimers.
As ever the festival will play host to an eclectic mix of country, rock and pop not to mention a vast range of real ale! This award-winning festival tries just that bit harder: right from its deeply green credentials with the most impressive recycling initiatives, through to the Kids Zone keeping younger festival goers entertained, to making sure everyone enjoys the music whatever the weather, with all sets being undercover on indoor and outdoor marquee stages.
