Win! Tickets to Dolly at Curve!CLOSED

Never thought we’d see the day, but cloning meets Country and Western in Dolly, the new musical to premiere at Curve in Leicester from Tuesday 28 Sept-  Saturday 2 October.

Written by Nottingham-based writer Andy Barrett, Dolly tells the story of Dolly the sheep (natch) who burst onto the world stage in 1996, the first ever mammal cloned from an adult cell and one that became an overnight sensation. Named after Country and Western icon Dolly Parton, in honour of the mammary gland from which the cell was taken, she attracted the eyes of the world and its media to the little village of Roslin, seven miles from Edinburgh.

The musical play will tell the (almost true) story of a young woman and her part in one of the most incredible and far-reaching stories of the last twenty years. Packed full of Dolly Parton classics, Dolly playfully explores the science and morality of cloning and asks what really makes us who we are – nature, nurture, or the power of our dreams?
